We are listed on craftscotland under ‘What’s on’.
We are now in the last week of preparations for the show, eek! Everything seems to be pulling together quite nicely, touch wood. We look forward to seeing you all on the opening night!
Again, here is a more indepth overview of the exhibition;
Our end of residency show ‘THE COLLECTIVE :works‘ is to open April 30th and is the first public-space, public-access, self-curated exhibition we are due to hold over the coming months.
‘THE COLLECTIVE :works‘ promises to be an alternative jewellery exhibition, combining the contrasting design styles of five Jewellery Designers from across Scotland. ‘:works’ is set in an open installation exhibition, whereby visitors to the show are able to get up close to the pieces, stripping down the formalities of the traditional jewellery exhibit. The Collective’s aim as a group is to stimulate thinking and conversation on how Jewellery is perceived today.
‘:works’ puts on public display a strong collective body of work, covering a wide variation of issues & inspirations;
- the engagement of the individual design process
- sentimentality, concealment, and hidden histories
- social etiquette and the playfulness of touch
- the growth and decay of Islay’s coastlines
- the evocative strength of the industrial shipyard
The combinations and contrasts of The Collectives’ work provide a rich and fascinating platform from which to launch our first public event.
The event will be held in the Roseangle Gallery, Dundee, and is free admission to the public

Mother’s Day Sale
MOTHER’S DAY SALE
Our mother’s day sale went very well! Thank you all who stopped by, whether is was for a curious look, a lovely card, a mother’s day gift or indeed a ‘mother’s day gift’ (i.e A GIFT FOR YOU!). The day was lovely, with a constant stream of passers-by stopping for a nosey. Thank you all who signed up to out mailing list aswell – expect an update soon as to our next event! But, enough of that – here are some snaps from the sale midday;

THESE FOUR WALLS
these four walls was a success! Despite the wild weather, everyone who made it along embraced the spirit of the evening and had, what was hopefully, a wonderful time! What we had planned to be a structured event, evolved into a brilliantly organic ‘catwalk’, with pieces being picked up, tried on, swapped, matched, and ultimately enjoyed by all.

Hello, we are THE COLLECTIVE
We are a group of graduate jewellers who have combined forces for a series of events in Dundee.
We are Sarah Brown, Jane Gowans, Katie Lees, Hannah Livingston and Kate Pickering.
Together we will be providing alternative exhibition experiences across the coming months. Our first, ‘these four walls’, took place at the end of February. Photos from the evening will be up soon.
